CES has the ability to pour ferrous castings from ounces to 2000 lbs and non-ferrous castings from ounces to 400 lbs. Molds are done via the Kloster
sand mixer in the "air set" process. Cores are produced with shell, isocure
and air set sand processes. Two, 1000 lb. electric induction furnaces and
one, 1500 lb. electric induction furnace provide melting capability for
ferrous alloys. Non-ferrous alloys are melted in a gas 400 lb. crucible
furnace or a gas 600 lb. crucible furnace. A rotary degassing process is
utilized for hydrogen gas control.
CES currently produces castings in most gray and ductile iron
specifications, ductile ni-risist and some steel grades. Ferrous material
analysis is performed on each melt by spectrograph with 14-element
reading
capability. Full sand analysis is also completed in the materials
laboratory. Customer specified radiographic or tensile information is
obtained from out side labs. Non-ferrous materials are melted from ingot
purchased directly from smelters in the alloy specified by each customer.
Special material analysis requirements are completed by out side labs.
CES serves a varied current customer base in automotive, heavy-duty diesel,
agriculture, racing and construction industries.
